Fibo is a company focused on post-harvest fishing loss by providing traditional fishermen with solar-powered cold storage that results in energy-efficient, automatic temperature control and replaces the cooling materials which are used in refrigerants.

 

Problem Statement

Traditional fishermen around the world suffer from harvest quality issues. Almost 80% of the small-scale fishers in developing countries use conventional cooling systems with ice cubes. In Indonesia, for example, the increase of marine productions by 31% in four years did not result in positive economic impact. Instead, fish prices dropped by 66% and continue to have low-quality standards. Fibo aims at tackling this issue through a reduction of post-harvest loss by means of sustainable energy sources.
