The 5th Make-IT Alliance Network Meeting took place at the Berlin Office of the German-African Business Association on October 13th 2017.
The Make-IT Alliance members welcomed Ms. Chiemelie Umenyiora, based in Lagos, and Mr Mutembei Kariuki, based in Nairobi, both as the “Make-IT Desk Officers”. They will serve as a nexus for network building in order to facilitate the ecosystem.
Ms. Umenyiora and Mr. Kariuki will be facilitating collaboration between start-ups and corporates. They shall help establish 600 business and investing partnerships, empower young and female entrepreneurs as well as support job growth in the verticals e-agriculture, e-health and energy.
Services will be centred around the motto of the Make-IT Alliance, with ‘inspire’ standing for the demonstration of innovation potential through start-ups for corporates, ‘connecting’ start-ups to opportunities for growth and development, and ‘developing’ local and international partners to support start-ups in their ventures.
Other topics of the meeting were the Make-IT Accelerator and the EU-Africa Business Forum taking place in Abidjan on November 27, 2017.
