Eye examinations and glasses are very expensive in Uganda. That is why Wazi Vision developed a cheap and intelligent way to make eye care possible. The business offers affordable vision tests and glasses created using waste material such as plastic and paper. Their glasses are not only cheap to produce but also look very stylish. A high-end (and somewhat more cost-intensive) series of glasses cross-subsidises simpler, inexpensive versions for others who otherwise cannot afford them. Almost all staff members are women and have been specially trained for their job.
