AEROBOTICS

The South African start-up “Aerobotics”, based in Cape Town, uses satellites, drones and artificial intelligence (AI) to help farmers manage their fields. To get an overview, farmers can have drones fly over their fields with a multi-spectral camera. The images are uploaded to a platform on the internet, where they are automatically processed and evaluated by an AI. The intelligent maps and data generated from the cultivated land can identify problems and plant diseases, and show the farmer how to optimize his/her resources. The potential of this innovation is enormous as it allows for data-driven decisions, helps preventing crop failures and securing food for the growing world population.
