Is it on air?
Radio is extremely popular on the African continent, but legacy matters and digital rights are often insufficiently or not defined. This generates multiple problems for the legacy-based music industry, as musicians are often unable to track who is using their work.

The start-up Qisimah operates a radio content verification platform that uses its own proprietary technology to document broadcasts, create an acoustic fingerprint and make the information it captures available to its customers in the music and advertising industries. With this tech nology, rights owners can see when their songs have been played and by whom, and advertisers can ascertain whether radio stations have actually broadcast the ad vertising they have paid for. Armed with this information, musicians and producers are better able to claim their copyrights, and the advertising industry can more effectively plan its campaigns and marketing activities.
