The ii2030 #Africa4Future Edition
The first virtual ii2030 event took place in 2020, bringing a diverse group of participants together from 26 countries, 65% of whom hailed from the African continent. Using virtual whiteboards, participants worked through various solution designs with virtual post-its, icons, creative drawings, and analytical rankings. The ii2030 #Africa4Future Edition aims to increase collaboration among innovators from corporates, startups, the public sector, NGOs, and the scientific community. ii2030 #Africa4Future Edition is being implemented in close collaboration with Airbus BizLab, UP42, CcHUB and Make-IT in Africa.
The first fully virtual ii2030 edition
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Endeva re-designed the ii2030 methodology to facilitate a fully virtual consultation and co-creation phase. With Zoom for video conferencing and Miro as a virtual whiteboard endeva successfully engaged a diverse group of actors from 26 countries, with 65% from the African continent. Miro allowed the interactive participation of all actors in the solution design through the use of virtual post-its, icons, creative drawings, and analytical rankings.
The three ii2030 #A4F tracks
- The agriculture track aimed to create more resilient agri-food systems, reduce small farmers’ risk exposure and increase productivity by using remote sensing technology.
- The infrastructure track aimed to support African decision makers to effectively respond to service delivery challenges today and build more resilient infrastructure tomorrow by using data-driven tools based on remote sensing and artificial intelligence.
- The drone track aimed to make Africa the safest place to fly drones easily, by leveraging tech enhanced BVLOS regulation to allow the industry to play a critical role achieving the SDGs.
