Africa AI Accelerator Program – Apply until June 25, 2020

Don’t miss this opportunity! Apply for the chance to become part of the first cohort of the new Africa AI Accelerator Program. Africa AI Accelerator is open to Start-ups from Ghana, South Africa, Rwanda and Uganda. Participants will receive coaching and mentorship from AI experts from IBM and profit of connections to global networks and mentors.

The Africa AI Accelerator Program has been designed by Ghana Tech Lab. It aims at the promotion of local innovations in the field of artificial intelligence, machine learning and data usage. Program partners are GIZ’s tech entrepreneurship and AI initiatives “Make-IT in Africa” and “FAIR Forward – Artificial Intelligence for All” and IBM.


The participating start-ups are supported in the 6-months program mainly in terms of business and product development. The accelerator program focuses on virtual and physical phases, including a fully-funded bootcamp training. Another goal of the program is to encourage collaborations between startups and corporates to provide the best environment for growth. Therefore, the participants receive intense coaching and mentorship from AI experts of IBM and will get the possibility to extend their global network.

Who can apply?

The first cohort will include 10 AI startups. Founders from Ghana, South Africa, Rwanda and Uganda are eligible to participate.

Your startup should:

– be a for-profit startup with a team of at least two people
– operate in Ghana, South Africa, Rwanda or Uganda
– be operational for at least one year
– have a business model with social impact
– have an Venture Profile on VC4A
