Among our Make-IT fellows who participated in our last Make-IT monitoring campaign, we raffled off three trips to the re:publica 2020 in Berlin. This conference is one of the largest of the internet and digital society worldwide. Around 25,000 visitors and experts discuss current issues of the digital society. On August 13th 2019 Gideon Berhane made the draw for the Make-IT in Africa Team in Eschborn. He randomly selected the tech start-ups. We are looking forward to welcome ClinicMasters and Kaaro Health from Uganda as well as Nestmetric from Kenya at the re:pulica, in May 2020.
ClinicMasters has developed into an international service provider since its foundation in 2013 and is one of the success stories of East African start-up ecosystems. Like ClinicMasters, KaaroHealth is also an Ugandan start-up in the health sector. Kaaro Health supports healthcare entrepreneurs to enable them to provide advanced care to patients in rural communities in Uganda. Nestmetric, a Kenyan start-up, will accompany the two start-ups from Uganda. This start-up was founded in 2018 and offers entrepreneurs the opportunity to get consultation on how to develop their business model further.
We are looking forward to welcoming the three start-ups in Berlin! For all the once that did not win, don’t worry we will start the next monitoring campaign in December this year.
