ABAWT x #Africa4Future Meetup
More than 100 people came together at Wework Sony Center for an exciting evening of networking and to meet the #Africa4Future start-ups and learn more about their innovative solutions for a better Africa with tech. The Meetup session was the first event to be held at Wework Sony Center in colloboration between Berlin-based ABAWT and Make-IT in Africa. The event was opened by Rey Buckman (Airbus BizLab) and Gideon Berhane (Make-IT in Africa) on behalf of the #Africa4Future project. Sannssi Cissé from ABAWT introduced the 10 start-ups and opened the floor for a vibrant exchange between the audience and the start-ups.
The #Africa4Future initiative is a joint accelerator by Airbus BizLab & Make-IT in Africa focusing on startups working on digital solutions in the field of unmanned logistics and remote sensing. Ten teams from Kenya, Malawi, Ethiopia, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Mali and South Africa were selected from more than 300 applicants from all over the continent to participate in the six month program. The startups joined the ABAWT x #Africa4Future Meetup to meet the vibrant Berlin tech scene and to present their solutions in the sectors of health, infrastructure, logistics, agriculture, water and waste management.
