Make-It in Africa and 6 start-ups from our accelerator program and start-up pool attended the CIO IoT AI Summit on Thursday 16th and Friday 17th August 2018 at Crowne Plaza Nairobi, Kenya.
CIO, an acronym for Chief Information Officer is the leading magazine for the Information and Communications Technology industry in East Africa, published by African eDevelopment Resource centre in conjunction with the International Data Group (IDG).
The summit, themed ‘Harnessing the Power of IoT and AI to Drive Customer experience’ was designed as an information sharing launch pad for potential solutions that Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence presents both in the private and public sector.
The two day event kicked off early in the morning with a CEO/MDs roundtable from 7:30am where the business opportunities for IoT and AI as well as how organisations can tap into them were discussed.
Following the roundtable were a series of presentations from summit speakers.
Mutembei Kariuki, Regional Coordinator East Africa continued this introduction to IoT and AI in agriculture by presenting potential use cases for these tools.
In addition to the presentations, Make-IT also supported 6 start-ups to attend and showcase their businesses and how they are involved with IoT or AI at the summit. These were Nestmetric, M-Shamba, GrassRoots Bima, Vakara Africa, Taimba and Annona.
