The goals of the Make-IT Initiative is to contribute to inclusive and sustainable economic development, by promoting the start-up scene of technology companies (tech entrepreneurship) in developing and emerging countries.
the MAKE-IT Alliance
To achieve the goals of the Make-IT Initiative, BMZ cooperates with German and international companies, associations, universities, investors, funding institutions and other local partners. The unique characteristic is created by linking the experience and practical knowledge of successful companies with the ideas and innovative power of young entrepreneurs in technology start-ups.

MAKE-IT in Africa
On behalf of the BMZ, the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) GmbH has been implementing a pilot project in Kenya and Nigeria since the beginning of 2017.
The “Tech Entrepreneurship Initiative Make-IT in Africa” currently supports more than 50 selected start-ups from East and West Africa whose digital innovations are particularly relevant to the sustainable development of their countries. The partnerships with the Make-IT Alliance serve to strengthen the interaction of private industry, public institutions, financing partners as well as associations and networks in Africa.
The target group of the programme are Small and Growing Business (SGBS) that have already hired their first employees outside the founding team and whose products or services have sustainable market opportunities.
